About Alison

I have been working with expectant and new parents since the birth of my first baby in 2001, when I began training with the NCT as a childbirth and parenting educator. Since qualifying I have facilitated over one hundred and fifty courses antenatally for the NCT, children's centres, and for young parents' projects, mostly in Bristol and Bath. I am also a birth doula. I am trained in the 'rewind technique' - and can offer parents a gentle, safe, and highly effective way of moving on from a difficult birth or early parenting experience.
Over the years I have been a long time campaigner for family-centred maternity services and early parenting provision, and local initiatives to support new parents. I am a mother companion with Project Mama (projectmama.org) - a fabulous organisation supporting women refugees and asylum seekers in Bristol on their journey to motherhood.
It is my long-held, passionate belief that in order to love and cherish their babies, all parents need to be nurtured themselves.
I live in Southville with my husband, our two children and our Lakeland Terrier, Cassie.
About Mitch

I live in North Bristol and have been working with expectant and new parents here since 2003, having trained and worked with the NCT as a childbirth and parenting educator and pregnancy/postnatal yoga teacher.
Being passionate about improving services for pregnant women and new families has enabled me to be involved in shaping NHS provision through a variety of consultations and meetings with midwives, doctors and managers. I also love building and maintaining strong links with the buoyant community of birth and postnatal workers across the area.
I have two sons who were born here in Bristol and now that they are in their teens I feel blessed to be able to offer support to other parents with babies and young children. I am full of admiration for anyone raising babies and know that a little bit of timely support can bring a whole lot of joy.
